  • Financial Exploitation
  • Self-Neglect is not technically in the Vulnerable Adult Act but will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.  Please review the Adult Protection Brochure.

Guardianship Resources

Morrison County has an established screening committee, per Minn. Stat.§524.5-304(g), to complete a comprehensive review of applications. The committee's responsibility is to examine each application to determine if establishment of a guardian or conservator is appropriate per Minnesota Statutes.

Please review the following resources for least restrictive alternatives:

Volunteers of America: Guardianship & Supported Decision Making

Office of Ombudsman for Long-Term Care: Know Your Rights

Lutheran Social Services of Minnesota: Supported Decision-Making and Guardianship Options

If the above resources do not provide an answer to your guardianship question, please complete the MCHHS internal guardianship request form and submit it as instructed.
