Emergency Preparedness and Response funding helps the Morrison County Health & Human Services Department respond quickly and effectively to a range of public health challenges, including infectious diseases, natural disasters, and emergencies involving chemicals, biological agents, or radiation. A key part of this preparation is planning for the impact on the community when important services, such as public health, health care, and behavioral health systems, are unavailable during or after a disaster.
Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) in Morrison County is built around national standards set by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH). All of our plans and programs consider the specific needs of people in the community and include appropriate response techniques. This work is done in collaboration with other government agencies and local partners to ensure we are ready for any situation.
Focusing on:
Preparedness: Ensuring that we are ready for any emergency situation
Mitigation: Reducing the risks and impact of emergencies
Response: Acting quickly and effectively when an emergency occurs
Recovery: Returning to normal as quickly as possible after an emergency
By strengthening these capabilities, we help ensure the health and safety of Morrison County residents in times of crisis.
Morrison County Health and Human Services is in need of volunteers to respond to potential Public Health emergencies. Depending on the emergency, volunteers will be needed to perform a variety of jobs both medical and non-medical.
